2017 Equipment and Merchandise Sale CAPS: We will have your caps you ordered at registration available for pick up. We have additional silicone swim caps for sale for $10.00. ALL girls and boys with long hair (even if pulled up/back) must wear a swim cap at practice. Only team caps may be worn at meets. We will have fins for sale. They are approximately $25 per pair if you are bringing cash. Team magnets are $5.00 each.
TEAM SWIMSUIT: A team suit is mandatory for all regular season meets. Who must have a team suit? All swimmers on the Hammerheads, Makos, and dive teams. Not required but may purchase one: rookies and practice team members. We really don't expect rookies to get them. Any one piece suit for girls will work for them. We prefer the boys have the form fitting jammer style and not board shorts but rookies only may wear the board short style. We will have some suits available, mostly the smaller size. The cost for the female suit is $50.00 and the cost for the male suit is $40.00.
Basic Info You Need To Know About Swim Equipment
All competitive team members and Rookies are required to purchase a pair of rubber training fins. These may be purchased at one of our equipment sales, or from Kast-a-Way in Marietta, or online from Amazon, Kast-a-Way, or SwimOutlet. These should not be purchased with 'extra growing room' since they will fall off of your swimmer's feet in the water if they are too large. If you are orderering online, ask your friends if you may try their children's fins on your child while you are at the pool to find the correct size. Sometimes our Rookies have trouble keeping even the smallest sized fins on their feet. Try putting socks on your Rookies feet and adding pairs until the fins stay on when your child is in the water. Please note: Fins used in swim practice are not the same fins you use in your pool or at the beach. Swim practice fins are softer and more flexible - they are not "diving" fins.
Our team suits must be purchased at one of our equipment sales. These suits will stretch so please purchase a snug fitting suit and one that is not loose at all. It will stretch and quickly. Please note - your child must have a team swimsuit to swim at a meet. Note: Rookies do not need team suits, but they are welcome to purchase one if they would like to.
2021 Season Note: For this season only, we will not be requiring that a team suit be purchased. For meets, the following suits are acceptable: solid black, solid purple, or a mix of black and purple. We do have a limited stock of team suits that we will sell at a discounted rate this year if you would prefer a team suit. If you have questions about the style of suit that you need to purchase, please ask one of the board members at practice.
Swim caps are required for ALL girls regardless of age including rookies. Boys with long hair must also wear a swim cap. Caps must be worn at all practices. We are a competitive team and train as such. Swim caps will be available at our equipment sales and afterwards from the coordinators. We have custom Smyrna Sharks team silicone caps to sell. Please note: Swimmers can only wear Smyrna Shark swim caps during meets.
A limited number of goggles will be available at our equipment sales. After that, you can purchase them on your own from a swimming or sporting goods retailer. We suggest Speedo Vanquisher (they also have Vanquisher Jr for our smaller swimmers), but do not require a specific brand in order to participate in a meet. the only requirement is that the goggles be competition style goggles.
